This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I'm breaking my long silence for one, brief moment, and this seems the most appropriate place to share my thoughts on this one matter.
I've been in the company of several authors, cartoonists, directors, musicians and artists of all kinds whilst here at Evergreen and abroad in the world. I suppose it is not only self-reflection but also observation of all of these creators that throws this into the fore.
Why do we procrastinate?
Ah, it has nothing to do with muses. This is not a question of whether one "feels inspired" or has the need to be inspired in order to work. This is about those moments when these creators are creating. What causes us to create these side-projects that inhibit our true passions? Are they fleeting glimpses into our true goal that tantalize us; make us feel we have a new outlet for our 'muse' to explore and perhaps, then, hold on to it to complete our larger work? Or is it something so simple as a rise in ADHD amongst the generation I grew up in? Gods know; gods care. But I also care.
I feel that these side-projects are a waste. Are they what one truly wishes to do? Do they create a new appreciation for one's skills, or new insight? Typically, no. Not for this author, and I have found myself subject to the syrenian call of multiple projects. In fact, I have several pending works right now; several promised designs to be made into gift or public work. But this, again, makes the massive body of artists whom do the same like my brothers and sisters.
And so I must give what little advice I can on the matter: make one thing your passion. Make it your Path. And when you come to the end of your Path, and it is perfect, find a new one, and make it your Path to perfection. After all, if you never create anything, how can you be a creator? What is an artist without art?
So, Bryan. We don't talk much lately. I'm really bad at keeping in touch and we're both busy, so.. I thought I'd drop you a line here, 'cause I know that you most likely read the stuff posted here. First of all, I miss you! We used to talk all the time, but then things changed and here we are barely talking ever. I wish I could be there for you when you need it, and I want you to know that I'm always just a phone call away. You have my number, I think, and you have a cell phone. If you just drop me a quick line, I can call you right back if needed due to cell phone minutes and such. Secondly, I heart you! You may not know it or believe it, but I do. I always have and always will. You have played a huge role in my life, and you will always be remembered and thought of. Even though you are younger than me, you were very much a mentor to me at times. I admired you for many of the things you did, your strength (though you may not see it), your writing ability, your random knowledge.. Hehe. There are many things in my life that remind me of you and all the times (good and bad) that we've had together. I miss the days gone by, but there's no going back. Thirdly, I'm going to visit you someday, I promise. Not until after this summer, though, 'cause of an internship I have. But.. you are still on my agenda. Okay. I'll stop babbling now that I have announced my feelings at the moment to the world. Drop me a line sometime, whether that be by email or through here or a phone call. <3 to you, forever and always.
